Previous Looking up into the unattached pegbox. I mortised in the maple crosspieces to give the pegs doubled bearing surface and even pull. The pegs turn easier, and I suspect last longer, than with the usual single peghole in the top. Also seen here, one of the soundhole inserts, and ebony string saddles inlaid into the top and “ears.” The top is finally glued on. Slow but sure progress. Next
